There are two options: Either the mother was raped by a Ravena or she had a Ravena lover (which is less likely. Even if she did love someone before Lucio, why a Ravena of all creatures?). Remember also that having wings is not a prerequisite to be a child of a winged creature. This was a hint from Savana. And since Alwina is part human, it would be logical that her Ravena counterpart would be part human. But Gabriel could be the last great weapon of the Ravena, or their biggest stumbling block. Afterall, he is a son of his mother, too.

By the way, Gisella is a variant of Giselle, which means 'hostage' or 'pledge'. So combine that with virgin birth, and it seems like rape.

Sorry. I know how his mom died. She could not have been a Ravena then. :)

I wonder how the original script went? Or would that contain too many spoilers?

And one more take on the Gabriel mystery: I don't see how he can be a Ravena through Lucio's ancestors. I mean, Lucio is not immune to a Ravena's powers since Vultra can hypnotize him. So he can't be a Ravena. Bird-men are immune to that power. So considering that, Gabriel's father cannot be Lucio.

Or maybe Gisella was a Ravena. :))
